Go bottom fish off the coast of Newport, Oregon!

This offshore trip is best utilized in the late spring and summer when we tend to find many more large Ling Cod out in deeper water rather than nearshore. With Yaquina Bay Charters, we’ll take you to some of the best outer reefs and rock piles where you’ll find Sea Bass, Sea Trout, Cabezon, Kelp Greenling, and the much sought after Ling Cod. If you want to really round it off, add Dungeness crabbing to your trip. Limits on bottom fish change so check out the latest news and fishing blogs for the latest limits. As of April 1, 2024, the limit is 5 Rock Fish and 2 Ling Cod.

Bottom fish are great for fish and chips, fish tacos, sautéed or added to a Cioppino. Mild in flavor, rock fish are a welcome meal for even novice seafood eaters who are just discovering seafood eating.
