Go bottom fish off the coast of Newport, Oregon!

This offshore trip is best utilized in the late spring and summer when we tend to find many more large Ling Cod out in deeper water rather than nearshore. With Yaquina Bay Charters, we’ll take you to some of the best outer reefs and rock piles where you’ll find Sea Bass, Sea Trout, Cabezon, Kelp Greenling, and the much sought after Lingcod. This trip is in deep water approximately 10-15 miles from shore. Many anglers prefer to take this trip in the late spring through summer and into fall when the deep water holds the best chance for snagging the prized Lingcod. The standard rockfish bag limit applies. 2026: 4 rockfish and 3 lingcod.

Bottom fish are great for fish and chips, fish tacos, sautéed or added to a Cioppino. Mild in flavor, rock fish are a welcome meal for even novice seafood eaters who are just discovering seafood eating.
