Don’t forget! While today, August 24th, is the last day for recreational ocean salmon in the area from Cape Falcon to Humbug Mountain, we’re looking forward to the re-opening on Monday, September 1st! The Non-Mark Selective Coho season begins on Labor Day, and we’ll once again be able to fish for Coho and Chinook until September 30 or until the Coho quota is met. Native and hatchery fish (no fin clip required) are permitted up to 2 Coho per person or 1 Coho and 1 Chinook. Size restrictions remain: Coho must be a minimum of 16″ and Chinook must be a minimum of 24″. Spaces are filling up fast for half day and full day salmon combo trips. Last year the quota was met by mid-September, so don’t wait to get your trip in or you might miss out!
