Some More Salmon

We had really good Salmon fishing this weekend and were steady on rockfish yesterday despite some windy conditions. Also a really odd mix of fish yesterday on the bottom fishing trip. Normally we get lots of black rocks and maybe a blue and a cabezon, and a few lings. But yesterday we had only a handful of black rocks and a lot of blues, kelp greenlings, ling cod, and cabezon. Very interesting day. Here are some nice pictures of this weekend’s trips. … Read entire article »

Salmon Success!

The tuna decided to be about 75 miles out this weekend because of consistently strong north wind that pushed the warm water a little farther out this week, so our tuna trips became salmon trips. The tuna should come back in closer within the next week since the wind is supposed to stop blowing over the next few days, but we’ll keep you posted. We had a pretty good salmon day on both our boats Friday compared to earlier in the week and a very good day yesterday with just 3 fish shy of limits for the the Crackerjack and Sea Quell. Today we have another Salmon trip and two bottom fishing trips. We’ll post pictures from Saturday’s trip and today’s results later this week. We hope you all enjoy the rest … Read entire article »

Boy Scouts for Bottom fishing!

The guys said they had a really good time bottom fishing on the Crackerjack yesterday! They also made it through the whole trip with only one or two of them feeling sick, so it was a good day. Check out the bright orange vermillion rockfish they got on the left, very cool! Thanks for coming out guys! We’re looking forward to Salmon trips coming in today and Salmon and Tuna this weekend. Have a great day everyone! … Read entire article »

Few spots left!

Today the Sea Quell is out on a 10 hour Salmon/Bottom combo and the Crackerjack has a boy scout troop out for 5 hours of bottom fishing. Bottom fishing yesterday was pretty good, and we’ve caught a few nice cabezon like the ones picture above lately. Salmon is still a lot of action but not as many keepers right now, but still a very good time fighting fish. We have one spot left on a 6 hour Salmon tomorrow and two spots left for Tuna on Saturday, give us a call! … Read entire article »

Combo Crazy

Lots of bottom/salmon combos going out and being booked lately! Our combo that went out yesterday did fairly well. Limits were hard to come by but we sure are catching a ton of fish (just the wrong ones!). Bottom fishing is also doing well with several days of limits lately.   We have lots of Salmon and bottom trips going out the rest of the week, and Tuna trips this weekend with a little room left on Saturday! P.S. mmmmmmm crab! … Read entire article »

Like the flip of a switch…

Warm water sometimes just does the trick. Tuna, Salmon, Bottom fishing, and Crabbing are all doing wonderful this week. It really is like someone just flipped a switch and turned the fishing on! The tuna are in and striking a lot, the Salmon are back and biting strong, and the Bottom fish are hungry again. We’ve even seen much better ocean crabbing with a catch of 34 from 6 pots the other day. We had a rough start this morning with a fried wire that prevented our bilge pump from doing it’s job on one of the boats overnight. But even with an hour delay we’re doing just fine; both boats are out on the hunt for Salmon today and we’re expecting a good catch for the day, so be looking … Read entire article »
