Fishing Season Reminders

We thought it might be helpful to list the current and upcoming fishing seasons. Season dates and bag limits can be changed by the department of fish and wildlife. It’s important to look at their website for potential changes to these fisheries.

ALBACORE TUNA
Tuna come in the the warm water currents typically between the months of July through October. We will be updating people when the tuna come within range to fish.

COHO SALMON
The fin clipped coho salmon season opens on June 27 and closes after August 16. The non-selective season will be open September 4 and 5. It will open up every Friday and Saturday after until the quota is reached. This season usually closes within the first or second weekend of the season.

ALL-DEPTH (OFF SHORE) HALIBUT
The remaining weekends are:
June 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20
July 9, 10, 11, 23, 24, 25
August 6, 7, 8, 20, 21, 22
You cannot retain rock fish or lingcod with halibut on these days.

NEAR SHORE HALIBUT
This season is open from May 1st through October 31st, or until the quota is reached. Near shore halibut is open 7 days a week, excluding all depth halibut days. You can keep rock fish and lingcod with halibut.

NEAR SHORE ROCK FISH
Near shore rock fish is open 7 days a week. We fish from 1 to 2 miles off shore. This is light tackle fishing. The limit is 5 rock fish and 2 lingcod.

LONG LEADER ROCK FISH
Long leader rock fish season is open 7 days a week. We fish deeper water, further off shore. You will see a different variety of fish off shore and they tend to be bigger. The limit is 10 rock fish and no lingcod.

OFF SHORE ROCK FISH
The season is open Jan.1 through May 31 and again, beginning Sept. 1 through Dec. 31. The limit is 5 rock fish and 2 lingcod.

CRABBING
Ocean crabbing is open from December 1 through October 15. Bay crabbing is open 7 days a week with no closing date.
