Yaquina Bay Charters » Latest News » FISHING UPDATE 7-2-19

Salmon fishing has been fantastic the last week. The Spindrift has come home with limits of salmon the last couple of days and has seen a lot of salmon. This is a great time to book your trip! We’ve been getting both Coho and Chinook.

Rock Fish:
Rock fish trips have been very successful. All of the boats have limited on most trips. We aren’t seeing limits on Lingcod, but we have been catching some most trips. Cabezone is now open!

We’ve been averaging 4 to 10 Dungeness crab per person on our trips. The Sprindrift came home last night with 10 crab per person on our ocean crab and whale watch trip.

Near Shore Halibut:
We’ve been averaging 1 to 3 per boat on these trips. This is very typical of near shore halibut fishing.

Off Shore Halibut:
The off shore halibut season will be open again the 18th, 19th, and 20th of July. We still have room on the 18th and 19th. Reserve early to get a spot!

No tuna yet. We’ve seen some warm water come in close. We’ll be posting weekly on tuna to keep you updated and let you know when we will be booking for the trips.
