Fishing Update 8/22/18

FISHING UPDATE: 8/22/2018

The CrackerJack went out on a 6 hour long leader rock fish trip today. They limited all 11 people (10 fish each) and limited on crab for everyone (12 crab each). Great day! We have room next Monday and Thursday for the 6 hour trip. The price is $110 per adult. Half price for children 12 and under. Crabbing can be added for $20 extra. We fish only 12 people on this trip.

Salmon fishing has stayed consistent with a lot of fish being caught. There are a lot of salmon being brought on board with some limits being kept. It’s a lot of fun lately and you have a great change of getting some beautiful salmon. We offer 6 and 8 hour trips. Crabbing can also be added. We still have room through Sept. 3rd.

Near shore rock fish has slowed a bit in the last few days, but we are still seeing some good catches. You can keep 4 rock fish and 2 lingcod on that trip. It’s not prime lingcod season so we aren’t seeing a lot of those. We have room on Thursday morning for the 1/2 day trip that leaves at 7am. There’s also plenty of room next week.

Tuna: If you’ve been checking in with the office you probably already know that this hasn’t been a great tuna year off of Newport. Right now, the fish are too far out of range for us to fish for them. We are holding out for September in hopes that they travel closer so we can take our trips out. We’ll keep you posted if there’s any good tuna word.

If you are ready to take a trip out please contact our office for availability and to make reservations. 541-265-6800 or yaquinabaycharters.com.
