More ‘butts!

The Crackerjack made it in by 1:30 on Thursday with a full load of Halibut! The fishing is good when the weather cooperates! Today was called off by Captain Art, but tomorrow Captain Jack is taking another full boat out and planning on bringing back another nice load of 'buts. The largest from Thursday was 47 inches. Shooting for 50+ tomorrow! Tomorrow is the last regularly scheduled day of the Spring season for Halibut, but we expect the back up dates later in June to be made official because the weather hasn't been the best and we should have more left of our quota. As of the start of the day June 3rd we had about 57% of our central coast quota remaining. Back up dates would be June 17-19, July 1-3, 15-17 and 29-31. The Summer Halibut season has been limited to a TWO day fishing weekend instead of the typical three. Instead of a Friday-Sunday season we will only be able to fish for all-depth Halibut on select Fridays and Saturdays. That season will begin with August 6 and 7 and alternate weekends until the quota is met. For more information you can visit: http://www.dfw.state.or.us/MRP/finfish/halibut/fishing/index.asp
