Windy Weekend Ahead

Here we are approaching the end of September already! Bottom fishing is nice and steady, Salmon season is still open but they aren’t really around, and the Tuna are still hanging out around between 40-60 miles offshore! We haven’t had this much to fish for at this time of year in a long time! Unfortunately the weather is looking pretty wicked the next couple days, but we’re hoping we can at least get in our morning bottom fishing trips before winds pick up in the afternoons. Check out this load of tuna from one of the boats here in the marina a couple days ago! Anyone want to go get some?!? … Read entire article »

Tuna, Rockfish, and Salmon still open!

Last weekend was pretty uneventful as the weather forced some cancellations, but it gave us a all a little break and chance to catch up on some Z’s, so we’re ready to get out there everyday again as the weather allows! We’ve had some bottom fishing and salmon trips this week on the Crackerjack and Sea Quell. Bottom fishing has been good and steady while salmon is continuing to be slow and unproductive even though they seem to be all around. The tuna are still sticking around and are out about 35 miles, so we’re going for them every change we get. We have a trip going out on Saturday that needs a couple more, so let us know if you’re interested! … Read entire article »

Thursday Fishing

The Crackerjack is already well on its way to the tuna grounds this morning as the Sea Quell is about to leave the dock to take on some bottom fishing and crabbing. We have another tuna coming up on Saturday for the Crackerjack while Capt. Art is out of town this weekend for a family reunion. Bottom fishing and Salmon trips are available daily through September. Salmon has been picking up as the first runs are in the area and some are entering the bay and river already. Today should be a great day out on the water, so we’re looking forward to our crews’ returns and a nice catch! … Read entire article »

Clear skies this morning

The bad weather lasted long enough into Monday to bring our trips back in yesterday morning, so we missed three days of fishing this weekend. We were actually very fortunate to not have to cancel trips this August, normally we cancel several in August due to weather! It was about time for us to miss a couple of days, I guess. Capt Art and the Sea Quell are back on bottom fish today. Thursday and Saturday are looking like tuna days for Capt Jack. There’s room available both days if you’re interested. Hope you all are having a good week so far! … Read entire article »

Salmon, Tuna, & Windy Weekend

The good news is we’re catching salmon left and right out there! The bad news is, they are all natives! Well… not all necessarily but really, really close. They are such nice looking fish this time of year. I’m personally hoping the hatchery catch picks up here soon so I can mooch a fillet off of some generous soul…. I can taste it already! Yesterday’s tuna did well and had great action for the first few hours before it slowed down toward the end. They caught 21 for the 10 guys onboard and were only out about 35 to 40 miles. The tuna didn’t stick around this long last year, so we’re taking advantage! Another trip Monday then a triple threat Thursday, Friday, Saturday! The other bad news is all of our trips for … Read entire article »

Trying for salmon today!

The Sea Quell is going to take a shot at coho today under the new 2 fish limit. We have a good sized quota and we’re anxious to get our hands on a piece of the action. Apparently Depoe Bay has been doing really well this week, so Capt. Art will probably head up there and see what he finds. Capt. Jack is off the water today before returning to three tuna trips this weekend. There’s room left on Monday! … Read entire article »
